2009 Triple J Hottest 100 Round Up

Well done team Modular, who represented a tidy 5% slice in this year's Triple J Hottest 100 pie chart, which was unveiled yesterday. Yeah Yeah Yeahs' peaked as the highest Mod act (with 2 songs no less), while Australia's own Wolfmother, Tame Impala and Bag Raiders bigged up the local side of things. Thank you all for taking the time to vote, and a big congratulations to the acts!

11. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "Heads Will Roll"
18. Bag Raiders - "Shooting Stars"
25. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "Zero"
75. Wolfmother - "New Moon Rising"
78. Tame Impala - "Remember Me"

Yeah Yeah Yeahs brought their glitziest tour yet to Australia over the 2009-10 holiday transition period, and as the technicolor smorgasbord of pictorial evidence suggest, it was Blitz!

  Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the New York-based three-piece led by show-stopping siren Karen O, swept the early noughties rock revival floor clean with a self-titled five-song EP which was soon followed by their debut album Fever to Tell. Both were simultaneously filthy, infectious, sloppy, and brilliant. Two stellar records (Show Your Bones and It’s Blitz!) and a few slight genre-reinventions later, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are still readily taking applicants for their ever-growing legion of adorers.
