Van She & Nikon present the 'Idea of Happiness' Video Competition
Modular, Nikon and Van She are giving you the chance to make your very own music video. All you need is a little creativity and your own 'Idea of Happiness'.
The winner, chosen by Van She and Nikon, will win their very own Nikon 1 J1 camera to shoot the video with, and will work with Director Clemens Habicht (Tame Impala - 'Expectation', PVT - 'Window', Friendly Fires - 'Skeleton Boy') to create the official video for the SebastiAn remix of 'Idea of Happiness', available below.
All the information you'll need and submission details are right here. Its open from now until June 1st and is only available to Australian residents.

Here it is, the video for the first single 'Idea of Happiness' taken from Van She's forthcoming album of the same name. They'll be showing off their new live show over the coming weeks kicking off in Adelaide on April 14th and moving around Australia.
The video is directed by the legendary Andreas Nilsson who has worked with The Knife, MGMT, Yeasayer, Jose Gonzales and others.

Premiere: Van She - Idea of Happiness
Van She are back with their sophomore record, 'Idea Of Happiness', take a listen to the first cut and title track below to get a taste of things to come.
Recorded, engineered and produced by the band themselves in Kings Cross, Sydney and mixed in Los Angeles with Tony Hoffer (the perfect man for the job with a resume that includes work with Beck, Air, Phoenix and M83), the final result is so uplifting it's practically levitational.
'Idea of Happiness' will be out internationally on Modular July 6 (AUS)/ 9 (EU/UK)/ 10 (USA).
Be sure to be the first in the world to hear live the new material as Van She take to the road next month for a string of National Club show dates (below).

Director David Wilson is responsible for some of our favourite videos, including clips for Metronomy, Little Boots and Skream. To celebrate Christmas this year he decided to make an 'Alternative Advent' - he's made 25 mini clips and soundtracked them with a fine selection of artists, including (so far) Caribou, Battles, Les Savy Fav, Little Boots and We Have Band.
This week he's also featured our very own Van She. It's a fun clip in its own right, it's also a taste of things to expect from the boys next year. There are still another 10 videos to come, with some other special artists on the list, so keep your eye on the calendar each day!

Three of our finest Australian homegrown acts; Van She, Bag Raiders and Muscles, will be heading as far south of the border as you can get - San Paulo, Brazil - as part of Smirnoff's Nightlife Exchange Project, on 27 de Novembro (November 27th). Van She Tech - the Boys Are Back + a New Single Surprise
From Queen to Wham!, Duran Duran to Ce Ce Peniston, Van She Tech have put together an amazing DJ set for this year's Splendour In The grass, full of all original dance music and bootleg bangers made in between writing their sophomore album.
While busy in the studio writing the rest of their second Van She full length, Nicky and Michael have informed us that they have made some special bootlegs which they will be giving away via Van She's Twitter page over the coming weeks. Word on the street is that VST will drop one of the singles from album number two during one of their Splendour sets - YES!

Not too long ago we prescribed you with Van She's cover of the Blue Oyster Cult classic, "(Don't Fear) The Reaper". But if that fever still persists then we highly recommend that it's about time for your second dosage, in the form of a Holy Ghost! remix of the very same track. As if the original wasn't enough, Holy Ghost! do what they do best and take team Van She's effort and make it their own.
Rumour of the day/week/month: James Murphy wouldn't let Holy Ghost! within an inch of the precious DFA cowbell, so he took a 'personal day and trekked to their studio in Paris to play it himself.

We've got a fever, and the only prescription is more Van She. While the latest release from Bacardi's B-Live Bat Box doesn't feature any cowbell, Van She's cover of the Blue Oyster Cult classic "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" is nothing short of banging. The Van She lads already did a killer job re-working Groove Armada's "Drop The Tough" earlier this year for B-Live, so when they wanted to take on the Reaper - who could honestly stop them?
